Using of chemical admixtures like lime, cement, bitumen in soil stabilization are highly expensive in now a days. However, egg shell powder and common salt are could be preferable replacement in case of these manufactured materials as they are cost reducing. This research investigates an experimental study for stabilizing a clayly soil with eggshell powder as a replacement of industrial lime as well as the engineering properties of soil. Stabilization was performed at optimum eggshell and with 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10% of common salt. The addition of common salt reduced the Plastic Indices (PI) of the samples. The values reduced from 14.82, 11.11 and 7.99% to 8.03, 1.25 and 1.23% in samples A, B and C respectively. The unsoaked CBR values also increased from 34.78 to 50.99 kN/m2, 15.64 to 28.89 kN/m2 and 27.31 to 34.20 kN/m2 at optimum stabilization in samples A, B and C respectively. The result showed that the addition of common salt improved the compaction and CBR characteristics of eggshell stabilized soils. Moreover, it is observed that curing duration had significantly improved the strength properties mentioned of the stabilized soil samples.

REPRESENTATION OF INDIA IN CIGARS OF THE PHARAOH

[Vol. 04 (01), December, 2023, pp. 24-32]

This paper will examine Georges Prosper Remi s (pen name Herge) representation of India in Cigars of the Pharaoh (French: Les Cigares du Pharaon), the fourth volume of The Adventures of Tintin, by this Belgian cartoonist. It was published in Le Petit Viengtieme, the children s supplement of the conservative Belgian newspaper Le Viengtieme Si cle which was serialized weekly from December 1932 to February 1934. I shall argue how India has been (mis)represented by Herge in this volume. For instance I shall try to see how Herge looks at India in a postcolonial exotic manner. I shall try to examine was India really like this in the 1930s when Herge writes and publishes this volume and I shall also investigate the impact of Tintin comics on Indian minds.

APPLICATION AND ANALYSIS OF SENSORS USED FOR PRECISION AGRICULTURE: A REVIEW

[Vol. 04 (01), December, 2023, pp. 62-67]

In the present era of Internet of Things (IoT), data driven decision making is getting much acceptability in industrial and agricultural sectors. Increase in world population and reduction in resources for agriculture have challenged the conventional farming method to optimize the utilization of resources in a statistical way. Therefore, different field parameters need to be collected and correlated to decide the optimum amount of resource to be applied. Estimation of field parameters are possible by visually comprehending the variation in color gradient or by applying multiple specialized sensors for different parameters at the field. Estimation of physical parameters, field parameters and environmental parameters with required accuracy helps to determine the accurate amount of the resource to be applied. Optimization of resources is the key requirement in the present situation which is not possible without the appropriate sensors. In this paper different types of sensing mechanisms have been discussed with their pros and cons to highlight the potential research challenges in current sensing technology.

ENERGY SECURITY IN INDIA

[Vol. 04 (01), December, 2023, pp. 80-85]

India is a country with more than 1.4 billion people accounting for more than 18% of world's population. India has 28 states and 7 union territories. It faces difficulty in providing adequate and sustainable energy supplies to users at a reasonable cost. It is anticipated that India's nominal GDP will exceed US $3 trillion by March 2020. The annual growth rate of nominal GDP during the period is stupendous 7.2%. Energy Security has long term aspects in a country's economy and growth. Integrated Energy Policy Report of Planning Commission of India, 2006, estimate the country is to progress on the path of this sustained GDP growth rate during the next 25 years, it would imply quadrupling of its energy needs over 2013-14 levels with a six-fold increase in the requirement of electricity and quadrupling in the requirement of crude oil. India has one of the world's fastest growing energy markets and is expected to be the second largest contributor to the increase in global energy demand by 2035, accounting for 18% of the rise in global energy consumption. India has increasing energy demands and depleting fossil fuel reserves, the country has aimed to expand its renewable and nuclear power industries.

AN OVERVIEW ON CATECHOL CLEAVAGE

[Vol. 04 (01), December, 2023, pp. 33-37]

Aromatic compounds present in soil can be degraded by catechol dioxygenases. They degrade these aromatic compounds present in soil mainly by two processes, intradiol and extradiol process. A brief account of the processes along with developments in this area are presented in this article.
